Finley is 12 years old and his poetry book ‘Little Book of Poems for Young Children’ has already raised over £400 to go towards supporting our latest appeal to support staff at University Hospital Southampton through the unimaginable challenge ahead.
“My name is Finley; I’m 12 years old and I live in Hampshire. Whilst in my first week of lockdown I was pretty bored and found I had lots of spare time until school work was set; I wanted to do something to help but was unsure how I could… My Mum had the idea of writing some poems as she has always said I am good at this – and from that my idea was to write a Little Book Of Poems For Young Children, but also to share this and raise funds for those people who are currently working so hard and risking their lives in order to protect ours. Over the last year the NHS frontline staff have worked very closely with my family, and University Hospital Southampton has been a second home for my Nanny who was diagnosed with cancer. Without these amazing frontline staff who every day treat, support and care for us, things could be very different. Right now during these scary times of COVID-19 these staff are our superheroes in disguise – and I want to say Thank You!”

Like everyone, The Murray Parish Trust are devastated by the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, and they have shifted all their focus & resources to respond to the crisis that has been unfolding at an alarming rate. They are currently fundraising for frontline NHS staff at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust as they face unimaginable challenges: all donations will be used to fund supplies and services which will help boost staff morale, support their mental health and well-being, and above all to show just how much we all appreciate all the staff’s tireless work caring and protecting our community.

If you would like a copy of my poems, please email my Mum [email protected] or [email protected], and they will email you a copy which you can download. The book is free, but if you are able to make a donation to The Murray Parish Trust I would really appreciate it – thank you for your support!
