Alresford Community Choir put on yet another spectacular concert presenting their Autumn Songbook at The Church of St Cross in Winchester in October 2019.

The choir, which is one of the largest community choirs in the country, wowed the audience with a truly uplifitng blend of spiritual, folk and contemporary song which included stunning performances from fabulous guest soloists Amy Williamson and Chris Pott. Choir members recieved a tremendous amount of well-deserved praise with one attendee saying ‘What an incredible evening, a truly life-affirming and uplifting event.’

Sarah Parish and James Murray gave a short speech at the beginning of the evening to talk about our latest fundraising challenge and thanked the choir for their ongoing support not only the Autumn Songbook evening at St Cross, but also the choir‘s sellout performance of The Messiah in 2017, which with double match-funding and Gift Aid raised nearly £12000.

Thanks to the generosity of those who attended the concert, just under £800 was raised through a collection on the night which with additional donations received after the event and adding GiftAid brings the total to a fantastic £1600.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all involved with the Alresford Community Choir for their amazing support of The Murray Parish Trust.

Keeping its audience thoroughly entertained, the ACC hosts regular sell-out performances at Alresford’s St John’s Church as well as venues such as Winchester Cathedral, the Watercress Festival, Arundel Cathedral, St. Swithun’s School and the Alresford Music Festival.
