Earlier this year Tracey Edwards and her daughter Ruby Funnell were so moved by a speech given at Ruby’s school (Princes Mead) by Sarah Parish and James Murray, that they pledged to support The Murray Parish Trust’s #2MillionSteps appeal.

Joined by Tracey’s son James Funnell (24), all three family members took part in The Great South Run on 22nd & 23rd October – a beautiful and sunny weekend in Portsmouth.

Ruby who is eight years old ran 1k in the Mini South Run on the Saturday which she completed in 11 minutes!
The following day Tracey completed the main event (10 miles) in a personal best of 2hrs 3 minutes and 47 secs and James, who only started training for the event in August, finished in an amazing 1hr 18 minutes!

Raising £884 which went to £1000.25 with Gift Aid, they have already booked their places for next years Great South Run to raise even more for The Murray Parish Trust.

Congratulations to Tracey, James and Ruby and thank you all so much for your support!

Entries are now open for The Great South Run 2017 and you can find out more and book your place HERE.
