Last week the pupils from Portsmouth High School took part in an obstacle challenge in the school’s grounds. The Junior School girls, from Nursery to Year 6, climbed over play equipment and balanced along logs and chains to complete the circuit and raised £800 for The Murray Parish Trust.
Earlier this week, Sarah Parish officially opened the new Junior School building which has new classrooms for Years 3, 4 and 5 and was presented with a cheque for the charity.
The school’s Chamber Choir and ‘Little Voices’ sang to Sarah and the other guests and Jessica from Year 4 presented her with a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
“I was asked to present the flowers as I really want to become an actress,’ said Jessica. ‘I asked her lots of question and one of them was, “If you weren’t an actress, what would you be?”. Sarah told me that she would have liked to have been a marine biologist. She told me that I should be confident and not to give up if I wanted to be an actress.”
Thank you so much to all the pupils and staff at the school and we hope you enjoy your new classrooms!
