Hamish Mackie’s ‘Boxing Hares’ Sculpture on BBC South Today

The team at BBC South Today came along on 10th May to see the very first installation for our Hares of Hampshire art trail. Hamish Mackie‘s magnificent bronze sculpture, aptly named ‘Boxing Hares’, is a giant 10ft piece art which will stand proudly outside the John Hansard Gallery until the end of August.

These hares will join 31 brightly painted designs in wowing the Hampshire public from 16th June, making in the largest public art trail that the county has ever seen! Each hare, including Hamish’s sculpture, will then be auctioned at an event later this year, with all proceeds going to the Murray Parish Trust, in support of Southampton Children’s Hospital.
