On Saturday 26th August Mark Porter (Chairman of Alresford’s Rotary Community Service Committee) presented a cheque for £5,000 to Sarah Parish & her husband James Murray (co-founders of The Murray Parish Trust) on behalf of The Rotary Club of Alresford. This donation was raised from proceeds of this year’s Alresford 10k Run and a bottle stall held at Alresford Watercress Festival in May 2017.

We would like to thank organisers of both events for their support and generosity and everyone who took part and donated their time and money for such a good cause.

Jon McKenzie, President of RC Alresford, said, “The Rotary Club of Alresford is delighted to make such a significant contribution to the Murray Parish Trust, which aims to make life so much better for very sick children. It is gratifying to know that the Club’s donation of £5,000 will be doubled to £10,000 in real terms, thanks to Government funding”.

The Rotary Club of Alresford have supported The Murray Parish Trust for some time and also pledged £1,000 earlier this year to the Southern Daily Echo & Barker-Mill Foundation #MatchMyMoney appeal. Local businesses and organisations from Hampshire raised a staggering £40,000 which was then doubled by The Barker-Mill Foundation for our #2MillionSteps appeal.
