Shadi Ganjavian-Connor, a mother to two girls, has taken it upon herself to climb the iconic summit of The Matterhorn to raise money for The Murray Parish Trust’s #2MillionSteps appeal.
The Matterhorn in Zermatt, Switzerland is not only the most photographed mountain in the world but holds a deep history in the climbing community being one of the last great alpine summits to be reached on the 14th July 1865 by Edward Whymper and his team.
Shadi is going to make her own piece of fundraising history, on the anniversary of this first ascent, towards a fundraising goal of £14,962 which is the height of the Matterhorn summit.

Shadi v The Matterhorn project is a community project with a great team already behind this extreme endeavour and is on the lookout for local sponsors, busy bees who are happy to do a spot of fundraising (perhaps host a coffee morning) as well as local schools who may wish to join forces in exchange for educational and interactive talks which will inspire children of all ages.
Contact Shadi at [email protected] if you would like to get involved in this incredible project.
Huge thanks to sponsors, donations and support so far from Polymedia, Ahmad Tea, PVC Building Supplies, Grivel, Acrteyx, Kevin Keegan, Golden Gecko Climbing Ltd, Bradley’s Foundation, Draper Tools and InTech Telecom.
