ABP Southampton Marathon are proud to announce the addition of the Full Marathon for 2017 in addition to the Half and 10k races on 23rd April.
The route itself takes you through the heart of the City of Southampton with a mix of coast, city and parks. Ideal for debut marathoners as it’s a predominantly a flat route giving you the chance to run over the Itchen Bridge with the finish line at The Guildhall Square.
An extremely spectator friendly race with activities for families along the route. Take a look at last year’s highlights in the video below..
If you take a charity place in any of the ABP Southampton running events as listed above you would be raising vitally needed funds for our ongoing #2MillionSteps appeal.
Launched in June last year we aim to raise £2million over 2 years to help build a dedicated children’s Accident & Emergency (Trauma) unit based at Southampton University Hospital. This paediatric facility will be a state of the art life-saving department and will service not just the city of Southampton but eight counties across the South of England and the Channel Islands.
We would like you to commit to a minimum fundraising goal of £300 and by taking part you would not only be raising money but awareness of The Murray Parish Trust and our nationwide #2MillionSteps appeal.
Once you sign up for one of our charity places in this year’s ABP Marathon, Half Marathon or 10k our fundraising team will provide you with:
Setting up a fundraising page on BT My Donate to collect sponsorship/donations from your circle.
You will receive a Murray Parish Trust running vest.
We will publicise your challenge on our website and across our social media channels.
In 2016 The Murray Parish Trust were honoured to have some extraordinary people who ran a total of 295.7 miles through London, Bournemouth, Portsmouth and even Uganda collectively raising over £10,000 for the charity. Take a look at our Marathon Miles in Highlights of 2016.
