The Murray Parish Trust Sponsored Walk.
ON THE DAY
Sarah, Jim and all at the trust were absolutely bowled over by how many of you turned out for the sponsored walk on Southampton Common on Sunday 7th September. We hope we managed to get round and thank as many of you as possible on the day itself.
The weather was on our side and proved the perfect back drop for a fantastic family day out (… the alternative doesn’t bear thinking about!) Over 250 people turned up and took part raising well over £7,000 for the charity, so a huge thank you for your sterling efforts. This kind of money is enough to purchase a piece of expensive equipment for the new children’s hospital and is a really strong benchmark to try and top next year!
We’d also like to thank the wonderful stall holders, tea & cake vans, bouncy castles, kids entertainment, DJ etc for making it much more than just a pleasant Sunday stroll around the common, your generous input was invaluable.
Congratulations to our top prize winning fundraisers, Sarah Paget, Emily Walker, Terrence Standing and Elisa Belverstone. Not to forget the amazing collection of nearly £400 from local Southampton resident Liz Harton.
