The Murray Parish Trust were delighted to have been associated with the spectacular Hampshire at the Hall event on April 23.

This showcase of young talent featured nearly 2000 performers from Hampshire, who impressed and delighted a sell-out audience at the Royal Albert Hall.  The varied programme featured county groups, massed musical ensembles, dancers and a choir of a 1000 – plus special guests the Band of the Scots Guards, who joined the young musicians in several very moving pieces to commemorate the centenary of the end of WW1.

Sarah Parish, actor, mother, and co-founder of The Murray Parish Trust, spoke about the charity’s work from the stage – prior to narrating “My World”, a newly commissioned work by Zella Compton and Tom Guyer. Christian Brassington (Poldark) was the charming compere for the evening. We are delighted to announce that the retiring collection for The Murray Parish Trust raised £3,807.85!

We are now over halfway to reaching our £2 million target to help build a brand-new state of the art children’s emergency and trauma department at University Hospital Southampton, serving not only Hampshire, but also seven other counties across the South of England, as well as the Channel Islands.

Sarah Parish said: “I feel really privileged to have been part of this amazing event – we have so much incredible young talent in this county, and we’re delighted that the event organisers, performers, and audience chose to support the Murray Parish Trust in this way.”

Jim Murray, actor, father, and co-founder of The Murray Parish Trust with his wife Sarah said: “I attended the fantastic performance with our daughter, and we were both absolutely bowled over by the skill and professionalism of the young musicians.  It was also a really good opportunity to talk about the much-needed new children’s A&E to those who will potentially benefit from it most – and as a result of the audience’s enormous generosity, we are now that much nearer to achieving our goal!”

It’s a huge thank you to everyone involved with this spectacular event incredible support we received  with special thanks to our wonderful volunteers who joined us on this ‘grand day out’!
