The 3 Peaks Challenge
Scotland, England and Wales in ‘one go’

In June 2013 a team of 18 friends of The Murray Parish Trust undertook the 3 Peaks Challenge and raised an incredible £40,000 for Friends of PICU. The money raised enabled the unit to purchase a stretcher specifically designed to hold a baby pod to transport critically ill children in the new Children’s Air Ambulance
The team flew to Inverness, then travelled by minibus to Fort William where they started the first climb up Ben Nevis in the early afternoon. They then drove through the night onto Scarfell Pike in the Lake District arriving around 1am on Saturday morning to commence the second ascent. The sun was rising as the walkers descended, then it was back in the minibuses and off to the final destination, Snowdon on Sunday, where they finished exhausted, but elated.

Not for the feint hearted, the trekkers endured 24 hours of tough walking conditions, long minibus transfers and of course, no sleep! They were supported along the way by our two mini bus drivers who drove them safely through the night making sure we reached all 3 mountains within the set time frame

A big thank you goes out to all our walkers, their sponsors and our supporters.
