One Donation, Double the Impact!
We are excited to announce the launch of our Calm Space Appeal through The Big Give Christmas Challenge, raising funds to provide a dedicated calm space for children undergoing brain surgery in a new iMRI Suite at Southampton Children’s Hospital.
The Big Give Christmas Challenge runs from 12pm (midday) on the 1st of December – 12pm (midday) on the 8th December 2020. During this time, all donations received via the Big Give (up to £18,750) will be doubled by match-funding.
Every year 300 children receive life-saving brain surgery at Southampton Children’s Hospital for the treatment of brain tumours, hydrocephalus, epilepsy and life-limiting conditions such as trauma. In the moments before surgery, families experience unbearable stress, fear and anxiety as they face an unknown outcome, whilst their child is prepared for the operation.
Our Calm Space Appeal aims to create a child-friendly, tranquil space within the new intra-operative MRI Suite. A space where families can hold each other close as their child is prepared for their operation. A space which feels calm, with artwork and lights that distract a child when they feel terrified. A space which makes everything feel a little less distressing.
How can you help?
There are many ways in which you can help The Murray Parish Trust and support The Big Give Christmas Challenge.
Even a small donation can make all the difference. So your £10 donation becomes a £20 donation, your £50 donation becomes a £100 donation towards our calm space appeal!
Donations must be received via The Big Give Christmas Challenge website between midday on Tuesday 1st December and finishing at midday on Tuesday 8th December.
The Big Give Christmas Challenge Going Live in....
Spread the Word
Please share this event with all your family and friends. We need to spread the word and get as many people involved as we can. We know that people like to support a charity in the run up to Christmas and by donating to our Calm Space Appeal your donation will be doubled!
Become a Virtual Volunteer
Like everyone, we at The Murray Parish Trust have faced many difficulties throughout 2020, the cancellation of nearly all of our fundraising events being the hardest. We have really missed seeing all our supporters, volunteers and fundraisers so we would love for you to join us in our Facebook Group Friends of The Murray Parish Trust and help us share awareness of the appeal and brainstorm some fundraising ideas.
Take on a Challenge
From something as simple as sharing a post on social media, to organising a fundraising event to collect donations in that week, we’ve got you covered. We’ve created a challenge toolkit with a few ideas to help us double your donations in that first week of December.
